CHARACTERISTICS OF THE RIVER
The Congo River is estimated to be 4770 km long. Except as far as I have researched there are no waterfalls that I could find. Over the whole year theCongodoes not freeze at all. My river is not affected by tides because it starts in the middle of Africa then spills into theAtlanticso my river is defiantly not affected by tides. The largest boat that could come through is between 50 to 55 metres long. There are many problems that the Congo has except I chose the top 2 the first is there are dangerous amounts of sand lying under the river and still today there are dangers for cargo ships trying to navigate there way through the waters. Also another huge danger are piranhas the size of a human.
Something very interesting about the wild life is that there are oversized chimpanzees called Billies that live in the area and locals say they eat nearby birds. In the Congo fishing is allowed all year round and if you do fish there you should go between July to November. I have searched many websites but I could not find any birds that dive for fish but I do know there a couple that do. The Congo does have a man eating fish in the waters that looks exactly like a piranha many say there related but there is no poof.
Recreation

The people of the Congo use the river for many things clean water, washing clothes, boat rides, swimming, drinking water, rowing, washing your body fishing and many more. Many people swim in the river but it is extremely dangerous because of fish waiting for you. Ceremony’s deaths and parties.

IMPORTANCE

The Congo River is very important for survival as the people of the Congo drink get food and recourses from the river. The river is vitally important also for comical reasons as the big ships come into the Congolooking for trade. Although the Livingstone falls prevent access from the sea, nearly the entire Congo is readily navigable in sections, especially between Kinshasa and Kisangani. Large river steamers worked the river until quite recently. The Congo River still is a lifeline in a land without roads or railways. these are the city’s and countries Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zabia.

Transport
The people of the Congo use the river in so many ways in colluding sending logs down the river for food
